The week of peace is much like the Apricot Fiesta. It is just a little time right after the end of school and right before all the summer activities start, so it can be said that it is a resting period for all the busy people in patterson. But there is the difference that if you do something bad in the Week of Peace, you are punished, while the fiesta is a huge playgroud for vandals. But even though Okonkwo is the strongest and has somewhat of a right to beat people, the town still punished him for his harsh actions. The reason for is was pathetic as well because he has three wives that all cook meals for him, yet he got mad when two wasn't enough. I don't like Okonkwo's temper, but I guess that he is insecure and afraid of losing everything.
